The Things People Say

I know this is incredibly cheesy, but I sometimes feel like my paintings are my babies. And I'm kind of like a surrogate. I really enjoy the journey that each painting takes me on, but in the end, I know it's not for me. It's going to live with someone else. I get many great thank-yous from clients and in some cases, gift recipients. They share stories and memories. Sometimes they cry. That's some powerful stuff. Here are some of my favorites. "Rachael,  I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for the beautiful painting of Foster that you sold my wife.  She gave it to me for Christmas, and needless to say, I was completely thrilled (and floored).  We’ve recently had to have him put to sleep, and no photo of him captures his personality and love of life like your painting does.  The lady at the art gallery that framed it said there was a bit of interest from people wanting to purchase.  Obviously, this is a priceless item to me and will never be sold. Again, I can’t thank you enough."  "The picture you painted of my daughter Kate leading her horse Emmy out of the barn was truly outstanding. Everyone that sees it is just in awe. I really can't thank you enough. It is one of the best investments I have made in art (and I have quite a collection of originals from Western Artists)." "You know they say that art is supposed to move the individual or instigate emotion. This did it for me. As I think back on his personality, this was him. Curled, soft, disheveled. Tears. You know I had him for 18 years and he was my guy. Perfect." *Gulp.* Do you have one of my paintings living with you? I'd love to see photos of them in their new homes, and share your stories here!
