Wild Kingdom

I paint a lot of dogs and cats. And people. And horses. But every now and then I get to paint a new animal for the first time, like a rabbit, guinea pig (coming soon!) or chimpanzee. My husband asked me if there was anything I wouldn't paint, like an iguana. I think my only limitation would be tarantulas or anything in the spider family. So don't send me any scary arachnid requests. (I'm serious. I won't even go into pet stores because I might accidently spot some 8-legged monster out of the corner of my eye and have to run screaming out the door.)
This was my first chinchilla. Now I want a chinchilla.

  1. This is beautiful! I love how you’ve captured woman’s face. Would be interested in seeing the photo.

  2. I know I’ve already said it on Facebook but I absolutely adore these! Everything is captured so perfectly. Athena the chinchilla looks like she’s nomming on a shreddie (which is her favourite, btw) and how I’m so focused on her; the little pink in the corner. Love love love.

And the painting of Piper and Gareth is just amazing. We loved that cat so much and to have something so beautiful to remember her by is truly a blessing. Her face, her paws, her ears – everythig is just perfect. Thank you SO MUCH, again. We cannot wait to get them and frame them and love them in person.
