Stuff I Forgot to Blog About

You know the saying about the best laid plans, right? Well, I seem to be doing a lot more planning than doing when it comes to this blog lately. I've been doing lots of painting, but they are all orders for gifts so I can't show you yet. But - I can share some things I've been doing to feed my creative soul. A couple of weeks ago, I participated in an Artist Appreciation dinner at Vitality restaurant. The food's good. You should eat there. I set up my display in time for happy hour, then played around with the WiFi for awhile 'til my date arrived.

My dessert.

So then the next weekend our friends had their annual house concert and invited Bohemian country songstress Amanda Richards to perform. She's a local gal and sings about some of my favorite topics - coffee, Portland hipsters, and zombies. I packed the picnic basket with what I refer to as a Hemingway meal - cheese, meat, bread, wine - and we had a great Sunday evening.

She had me at "zombie apocalypse."

"I have to go back to work tomorrow?!"

I could eat this every day. But I won't.

There's also been lots of berry and vegetable picking this week. My husband has been making pies. I made some chicken stock. It's just like Little House on The Prairie.

I always think the beginnings of chicken stock are so pretty.
