Homeschooling

We try to meet up every year with my sister and her kids in October so we can go to Disneyland during Halloweentime. The cousins have a week off in October, but we do not so the Rossman kids end up playing hookey from school. (Don't worry! They take their homework with them!) Anyway, this post is mostly for my husband who wouldn't be caught dead in Disneyland. He needs to know all the important life skills the kids are learning while they're here, and that we're not ignoring their education during their week off. We learned about...

Organization

Punctuality

Orienteering

Arts and Crafts

Social Studies

Literature

Nutrition

Hospitality

Constitutional Rights

Geology

Rules of the Road

Fundamentals of Industry

Weights and Measures

Seafaring

Defense Against The Dark Side

Laws of Gravity

Animal Husbandry

Here's what I learned:
  • Economics
  • Patience
  • Observation
  • How to locate the closest margarita cart
And a refresher course in "how to pump my own gas."

  1. great stuff! do you think we could convince work of the educational/health benefits of a ‘retreat’ in costa rica?

  2. Rachael !

So clever! 🙂 What a fun tradition you have w/ your sister; great memories for the kids (and you & your sister too!).
