News In The Valley

Several months ago, local writer Emily Grosvenor visited me at my studio (okay, okay, it’s just my living room) to interview me for Willamette Valley Life magazine. I picked up my copy yesterday (okay, okay, several copies) and found a lovely article on page 14.

Emily has a way with words, for example, “she studied fine art at Portland State University” has a much better ring than, “art school dropout.” She describes Birch as “plump and aging” rather than the vet’s term, “morbidly obese.”

I kid, I kid. It was a great article and I’ll post a link to it as soon as it’s updated on the WVL website.

I’ve always loved seeing my name in print.

The front.

The innards.
