I’ve been saving and saving and saving and finally, this week, had the awful carpet and vinyl in my house replaced with tile! I love our little 50s ranch so much and I’m slowly (very slowly) restoring her to mid-century-meets-boho-artist glory. The light beige carpet was brand-spankin-new when we moved in almost 10 years ago,

Energy

We spent the whole of Father’s Day weekend at the ballpark, root-root-rooting for the home team. There were four games in two days, and in between…  …he played basketball. I spent two days sitting in a folding chair and I’m sunburned and exhausted.

Hi! Monkey!

I’ve painted chihuahuas with tiaras, zombie cats and even guinea pigs next to billiard balls. But this is definitely my first terrycloth monkey. And Day of the Dead, to boot. My Act: Officially Together

Sometimes your WiFi craps out and you can no longer upload photos to the internet. Sometimes it takes you about a year to find time to call your computer guy about it. Sometimes you stay up until 2 a.m. on a work night uploading a year’s worth of photos.

Shortcuts

Too many baseball games. Too many deadlines. Too much laundry. Not enough home-cooked meals. Not enough exercise. Not enough sleep. It’s been especially hard to be Superwoman, lately.
