Cousin Camp 2012
It’s been a month since Cousin Camp 2012 – it’s this thing that my mom started a few years ago for my kids and their two cousins. It’s a themed week with activities and camping and camaraderie – and s’mores.
Unique watercolor portraits and pet portraits as seen on dooce.com, marthastewart.com and The Pioneer Woman. Commissions gladly accepted.

I always mountain lions lounging up in the trees, kind of leaning on one arm like they’re cruising, nodding their heads and listening to gangster rap. I imagine they would size up our little party of two and think, “The male is all hair and sinew, but the female, she’s slow and has some good meat on her.”
Last night I braved record heat, a crowded mall, social anxiety and uncomfortable shoes to meet The Bloggess Jenny Lawson in Portland. I gave her art. I bought a book. She signed it. And then I went home and thought about all the witty things I might have said if I weren’t a social misfit.
Ever since I bought my new trailer to renovate as studio space, my mom and I have been scouring flea markets, Etsy, antique malls and Craigslist for mid-century goodies. A formica table and chairs for my desk. A 50s era television to make into a bar. A martini set. Eames chairs.
I have this little tradition of launching a new Kickstarter project with fan art, so here is Jenny The Bloggess with a cat on her head.
