I was delighted today to find a postcard in my mailbox from the author at dooce.com.
A few weeks ago I saw such a cool photo she took of her dog that I was compelled to paint it and send it to her. It was a
real honor to be featured in her Daily Style section today!
I made these name plaques for my kids, inspired by their favorite
characters. They're really fun to do!

Took a much-needed day off, called Grama in to watch
the kids and headed out to the Brawley Farms Summer Classic for a couple days of painting.

I've wanted to paint this one for a long time....
Finally decided to do it as a full sheet and now am having some challenges with the face (as usual) and other little areas.
That's the problem sometimes with thinking a painting through in your mind too much before you paint it; either it works out
great because you've worked it out already or it just doesn't measure up to how you thought it would turn out.
And maybe I should clean off my desk.

This is a comissioned painting I'm working on
as a gift for my neighbor. Her mom asked me to paint it for Christmas. Luckily, we're good friends so she doesn't
find it at all creepy that I'm painting over here while staring across the street at her living room.
