Daylight Savings Time

Whose idea was daylight savings time, anyway? That's a rhetorical question; I realize I could Google the answer, but I'm saying Whose Idea Was This? It is 4:44 p.m. and dusk. My studio is now cave-like after 3 p.m. We see so little of the sun here in Oregon, and this is just an inconvenient and antiquated pain in the ass. I'm not a farmer. I don't have to get up early to work the crops. And if I did, farm machinery has headlights now, so this is really just unnecessary. But I digress. It's Sunday, the day when I usually try to cram as much weekend into one day as possible. I finished a bunch of paintings, but you'll have to wait until after Christmas to see most of them. I made chicken broth and white bean chili and cleaned out the refrigerator and did six loads of laundry. I know, I know. The Glamour. I just finished this portrait of two bengal cats; I think they are just lovely. If I had enough room, time, and patience, I might even have one. Thanks to Lorraine Garland, for letting me paint them.

King Lear and Queen Mab

Completed: November 6, 2010

Soundtrack: The Chieftains

Beverage: Iced Mocha

And now, back to my paints and because it's Sunday, my pots as well. I am working on I think, the last 10 or 12 Christmas orders so wish me luck. (But remember - I also have gift certificates!)
