I paint lots of portraits for gifts – anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, Christmas. But I was recently commissioned to paint five paintings as bridesmaid gifts, which is a first for me. I think.

This painting was a gift from a person’s adult children for her birthday. I sent a snapshot of the finished painting to the daughter that ordered it and she in turn forwarded it to her siblings. I heard back from her a few days later, confirming that they all loved it.

Today I finished a painting that someone ordered as a 40th Anniversary gift. Fortieth! Anniversary! Next month, we’ll be celebrating an anniversary too - lucky 13. I only know this because I just had to open up the calculator on my computer and do the math.
I’m an artist, not a mathematician.
