Lift Off

It's been, what, six days since my last blog? Well, a lot has happened. I've done things I'd never done before - like getting a spray tan and actually considering wearing 5-inch heels. I've dodged my daughter's passive-agressive notes around the house, pleading "Mommy, please don't go." I've become addicted to watching Hoarders on A&E.

If I could fit her in my luggage, I would.

I've picked out clothes and jewelry. I've raided my friend's shoe closet. I've cleaned my kids' rooms top to bottom so I won't feel as guilty for leaving. I planned and organized seven days' worth of meals (I'll only be gone five.) I've enlisted Grama to come stay with my poor, helpless family while I'm gone. I've done every stitch of laundry in the house and instructed everyone to refrain from clothes changing for 24 hours. I've charged my cell phone. I've downloaded Rent on my iPod for the plane ride. I've packed and re-packed. I even painted a little.

I'm packed. I'm ready. I'm leaving in the morning for L.A. which means there's really nothing to do but the fretting.
